(Updated March 30, 2020) Please be advised that for the safety of the community, the Masjid and entire property is closed for any activity including prayers until further notice (originally announced mid-March).
No activities and/or prayers are allowed on the Masjid property including the parking lot.
Further to guidelines by the Waterloo Region Medical Officer of Health, which has advised to end all public gatherings, and the notices by the Federal government, the Ontario Government has issued an order to limit the gathering of not more than 5 people and "social distancing" should as well be strictly adhered to.
Please stay at home, and go out only if absolutely necessary. Please keep in phone-contact with neighbors, family, and friends, and for those who really need assistance, deliver (at the door-keeping distance) food and/or medication. And inshaAllah this will be a door to Jannah.
Make an intention to have this time to revitalize - become a healthier, more intelligent person, full of taqwa and secured iman/faith. Make good use of your time, to increase your memory, engaging in supplications and dua, strive to understand the quran and hadith, and also books and articles on beneficial subjects. Try to learn a new language, for example, or brush up your skills in your area of expertise or academic interest.
Stand up in regular and optional prayers, and look after overall health with a good diet. Fasting is a great sunnah of the Prophet Muhammed (may Allah, God Almighty, bless him and grant him peace) in Shaban, as we prepare, and look forward for the coming of Ramadan. May Allah keep us safe so we can reach the blessings of Ramadan. Ameen.
Resting and engaging in adkar, is a lot better than spending unbeneficial hours following every tidbit of news. Be well informed with updates from local health authorities, and greatly limit your watching of news. The most important news is the one you have to present when you meet the Owner of the Universe.
We pray for forgiveness, and for Allah to lift this trial from this earth. Ameen.
