1. Important Announcement Insha'Allah Waterloo Masjid is planning on having iftar dinners for all nights during Ramadan. Alhamdulillah we are grateful for the generous sisters and their families that make each iftar possible. Even though everyone is generally welcome to attend the iftars, it's important to note that these iftars are mainly for the students, or single brothers and sisters that don't have local families. It gets difficult for these single brothers and sisters to cook iftars during Ramadan and so the Waterloo Masjid would like to make sure that they are looked after properly. If you do have family in Kitchener-Waterloo even though you are welcome to eat at the Masjid's iftar every now and then, but please try to break your iftars at home as much as possible. The families that cook the food end up being burdened for having to cook a lot and we don't want to put too much pressure on these families and sisters. May Allah (swt) reward our sisters in this blessed month. 2. Food/Monetary Donations Alhamdulillah the Waterloo Masjid plans to arrange for iftar dinners for the whole month of Ramadan. The community is requested to support the Masjid's iftar program by either arranging to cook the meals or to provide donations so the Masjid can arrange for the food with the donations. If you would like to cook food for the iftars please fill out your contact information on the chart in the sisters' area, contact Br. Shahid Mian, or email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . The Masjid expects around 200 people to break their fast at the Masjid each night so food should be arranged for that many people. In the past some families and sisters have come together to arrange for one iftar. If you would like to donate money please give it to one of the Executives or place it in a labeled envelope and drop it in the donation box. Please email the Masjid administration for exact costs. 3. Volunteers Dedicated volunteers make up a crucial part of the iftars. Since there are separate sections for the men and women iftars, we need both brothers and sisters to volunteer their time in setting up, serving, and cleaning up for the iftars.
