Announcements
Masjid schedule starting December 26 onward
Jumuah
There will be no Jumuah prayers during the lockdown period.
Five daily prayers
Daily prayers will be performed in the Sisters' hall by the Imam and the Muazzin. A maximum of 10 brothers will be permitted, including the Imam, the Muazzin and sometimes few Masjid volunteers. If anyone comes after the first 10 people, then please return home to pray.
- Maximum time for each prayer is about 10 minutes.
- There will only be the 5 daily prayers—no additional prayers will be allowed.
- Before entering the Masjid, it is compulsory to wear a mask and have your own prayer mat.
- The Masjid doors should not be opened without prior approval of the executives.
The Waterloo Medical Officer of Health has also communicated to us the strict adherence to the lockdown restrictions for the safety of all. Masjid volunteers intend to do their best to enforce the rules and restrictions. Anyone not following the rules will be reported to authorities and is putting the entire congregation at risk.
Disclaimer: While the safety of the community is of utmost priority, there is still some risk present with visiting the Masjid. Each individual bears responsibility for their own actions; the Masjid or its management will not be held liable for any complications arising from your visit to the Masjid.
Sunnah to follow on a Friday
During lockdown, regular Jummah prayers cannot be conducted in the masjid. Please pray at home, and keep in mind the Sunnah's of Prophet Muhammed (peace be upon him) and the virtues of good deeds on Friday.
- Take a Bath (Ghusl).
Clean your body and teeth (with a siwak if available). Wear clean clothes. - Read Surah Al-Kahf.
Send Durood and Blessings upon the Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) abundantly
- Continue making dua until the end of the day, as there is an hour where dua is accepted.
1. The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Ghusl (taking a bath) on Friday is compulsory for every Muslim reaching the age of puberty." Sahih al-Bukhari 858
2. Abū Sa'id reported the Prophet as saying, “If anyone recites sūra al-Kahf (Qur’ān, 18) on Friday, light will shine brightly for him till the next Friday.”
